AI ACT WORKSHOP
Practical, easy-to-implement EU AI Act compliance for SMEs:
skip the legal jargon, focus on what you must actually do.
Why This Workshop Matters
From August 2026 every European business that uses AI — not only those that build it — falls under the EU Regulation 2024/1689 (AI Act). Fines can reach €35M or 7% of global turnover, and most SMEs still don't know whether they're a provider, a deployer, or simply non-compliant by default.
This workshop helps you move from uncertainty to action with a guided classification of your real AI tools, ready-to-use templates, and a personalised AI Readiness mini-audit you can act on within 30 days.
(All exercises are based on your own tools and processes — but performed on safe, editable templates, with no impact on live systems.)
Map, classify and document your AI use safely in a structured environment — fully practical, plain-English, and SME-sized.
Practice your cybersecurity skills safely in sandbox environments like this — fully interactive, risk-free, and realistic.
Who This Is For
This workshop is designed for teams that use AI tools every day but own the decisions that affect compliance outcomes:
Owners & Directors
Office Managers & Operations
HR, Marketing & Sales leads
IT custodians and external consultants
Professional firms advising SMEs (accounting, HR)
What You’ll Do
All exercises are performed in the 42 Workshop Hub sandbox, so you can practice with confidence and leave with confidence.
All exercises are performed on the 42 Workshop Hub templates, so you leave with documentation you can adapt and use the very next day.
Rather than long lectures, this workshop focuses on doing:
-
List every AI tool in use and assign it to the correct EU risk tier (unacceptable, high, limited, minimal).
-
Define your role for each system and the exact duties the AI Act puts on your shoulders.
-
Create a draft AI Acceptable Use Policy and a Company AI Systems Register, both editable in Excel or Goole Sheets.
-
Build a personalised 90-day action plan, with priorities, owners, and evidence to show in case of audit.
How It Works
4 hours, hands-on session with step-by-step guidance (extendable to a 12h modular path + 2h final lab)
Tool-agnostic — works whether your team uses ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, Gemini or in-house solutions
All deliverables are template-based: AI Register, Use Policy, Provider/Deployer matrix, High-Risk Checklist
Aligned with EU Regulation 2024/1689 and the European Commission's SME guidelines
